Marie's Tempting Reads Review:I want to tell you right off the bat, that one of the BEST things about Raven's Blood by Cassandra Lawson is it can be read as a stand alone story. Its not that I don't mind if you have to read it in order, but it is better getting a story where you don't always have to worry about reading it in order. I really liked Raven's Blood too. Its full of action, suspense, zesty romance and all the things that I LOVE about paranormal. We have vampires and Nymphs and other paranormal activity going on that drew me like a moth to flame. I loved Raven and Connor. Connor is definitely the kind of alpha male any red-blooded woman would desire. He is strong, sexy, confident and exudes sex appeal like you wouldn't believe. Raven is a good match for him because she is feisty, caring, and beautiful.
The story itself was sexy and was a real page turner. I think Cassandra Lawson is a new favorite author of mine, especially after reading Raven's Blood. With that said, I gave Raven's Blood a FINE FOUR AND A HALF SHOOTING STARS!! Its well written with a strong plot, sexy vampires, and feisty nypms! A paranormal delight!

I read a lot of paranormal books and the reviews for this book actually caught my attention. I'm impressed with the unique plot, story development and chemistry of the characters. I really enjoyed how the world created and appreciate this wasn't a cliff hanger. It was a solid story with strong developers. I highly recommend this book.
This was an interesting book. A lot of twist and turns, the author is good at making you not wanting to put the book down until you are done. It made me mad, sad and happy. Until the end I was not sure what was going to happen and who was doing what and who was involved in it..it is a good book you will have to get it to find out for yourself.
I absolutely loved this book. It had my favorite PNR parts, the characters were well built and i never felt that I was out of the loop or missing any info. I enjoyed the humor, the chemistry, the banter and over all feel of the book. This book could have gone on another hundred pages for me. Once the story was picking up speed for the ending I felt it ended to fast for me, but I will definitely be reading the next book in the series and more from this author
Vampires, wood nymphs, and wolves, Oh My! Greed, lust, violence, compulsion, and love. What more could you ask for? I really liked the female protagonist in the book, however, she got on my nerves quite a few times. Kind of like a good friend you want to punch in the face occasionally. I wouldn't recommend this for YA readers, but if you like a good vampire story this one will work. I am currently reading the next book in the series. More to come....
I was hooked from the moment I started reading this book! The whole story had me swept away and wanting to know happen. The best part was there wasn't any cliffhangers! It's so rare to find a free book that doesn't have one and I was very pleased! The h Raven was brave and although she was described as small that didn't stop her for kicking butt and being there for her friends. The H Conner was a born vampire who was very much the alpha but he had compassion. This was a really good book, I plan to read the next book in the series!
A very beautiful and unforgettable tale. Raven is devastated by the death of her mother by the evil hands of vampires and turns away to start life over in a seemingly human settlement, only to find it wasn’t what she expected and vamps dwell here.
Eternally tormented by the loss of her mother and feeling extremely guilty over her unlikely attraction towards a vampire, she feels this violates her mother’s final memory but her desires are strong. The author boldly explores a very dark and powerful theme of contrast and irony in this one which makes it a delightful read.
Connor, the vampire turns out to want Raven too, but on his own terms and the two embarks on an affair that literally sets my kindle fire----ON FIRE. The perils that lie ahead are many and the roads dangerous for these two, and what lies ahead may change their lives forever if they make it out alive. You must read this book.
This was a pretty good paranormal romance and the first book read by this author. Connor is a born vampire who starts out his life with his mother and several other young born vampires who are under the control of humans. After the abuse of several years, they finally rebel against the humans and go out on their own.
They have formed their own community to fight and destroy the humans and turned vampires meant to do them and others harm. On one of their hunts, they meet up with Raven, who is a wood nymph, and Connor takes as hostage, due to her want to protect the humans she lives with.
There is a lot of adventure and you meet and get to know several of the born vamps. Connor and Raven begin a relationship, after fighting their mutual attraction to each other. This was a well told story, with very interesting characters that leads you through life, good and bad. The adventure continues in her next book, and I definitely want to read and
find out more.
For those who are interested, this book does not have a cliff hanger, and the sex is sensual, not annoying like some books.
